School and Corporate Challenge – 2016
This year Child Welfare SA Grahamstown has introduced two Tekkie Tax challenges to promote community participation. We are delighted to announce that the internationally renowned local sculptor; Bruce Little is creating “trophies” for us in the form of a pair of tekkies! One will be presented to the school and one to the business that has bought the most stickers from Child Welfare Grahamstown in 2016. Please come on board with this exciting challenge!
Tekkie Tax day will be held on Friday, 27 May 2016 and participants are invited to buy a Tekkie Tax sticker (to pay the tax to wear tekkies on the day) for a donation of R10.00.
The more stickers we sell, the more money we raise, the more children we can help!
Please let us know how many stickers you would like us to drop off at your school or business.
15 National welfare organisations in SA have joined forces for the biggest fundraising campaign of all time. Together we represent more than 1 000 local welfare organisations – support them all or choose your favourite one! Starting up in 2013 the first Tekkie Tax campaign was an overwhelming success and raised R2,4 million for the 183 welfare organisations that participated. In 2014 we grew to 286 participating welfare organisations and you – our supporters – raised R4,8 million for us. The 2015 campaign was an even bigger success as you raised R6,5 million for your favourite cause. This brings the final amount raised to R13,7 million. The recipe is easy: Choose your sticker, get a pair of our funky shoelaces and wear your tekkies on National Tekkie Tax Day.
